Erisin Android Car Stereo Guide: CarPlay, Android Auto and GPS in One Screen

Is your factory radio showing its age? Small screen, no smartphone connection, outdated maps or a CD slot you never use? An Erisin Android car stereo replaces it with a modern touchscreen head unit made for your exact car, so you get today’s features without changing the look of your dashboard.

What is an Erisin Android car stereo?

It is a car-specific head unit that runs the Android operating system. Unlike a universal radio, each model is designed for a particular make, model and year range. The front panel, mounting points and wiring are built to match your dashboard, so the unit looks like it came from the factory.

Main features

• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – use your phone’s maps, music, calls and messages on the big screen. Many models support wireless connection.
• Built-in GPS navigation – works even without a phone, with support for popular offline map apps.
• Bluetooth hands-free – calls and music streaming with the built-in microphone.
• DAB+ and FM/AM radio – DAB+ with an optional DAB box and antenna.
• Camera support – rear-view camera input, and on many models a front camera or dash cam.
• DSP sound settings – equaliser, balance, fader and time alignment to tune your speakers.
• Apps – Spotify, YouTube Music, Waze and other apps from the Google Play Store.

Plug and play: why a car-specific fit matters

Erisin units for brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen connect to the original plugs in your car. In most cases there is no cutting of factory wires. Where the car uses a CAN-bus system, the unit or a matching CAN-bus decoder keeps features like steering wheel controls, parking sensors and the vehicle information display working.

Which features stay working?

Depending on your car and the model you choose, the following can usually be kept:

• Steering wheel buttons
• Factory amplifier and sound system (with the correct adapter)
• Original reversing camera or parking sensors
• Climate and door information on screen (on supported cars)

Every car is a little different, so we always recommend checking compatibility with our team before ordering.

Is installation difficult?

Many customers fit the unit themselves in one to two hours with basic tools. Each unit comes with the harness for your car, and a professional car audio installer can also fit it quickly. If you get stuck, our support team can help with wiring questions and settings.
