BMW X5 E70 / X6 E71 Android Radio – Which Unit Fits?

The BMW X5 E70 was built from 2006 to 2013 and the X6 E71 from 2008 to 2014. Erisin screen upgrades replace the factory iDrive screen and keep the original BMW system.

CCC or CIC?

• CCC – earlier cars, until about 2009. iDrive controller with a single MENU button. Choose units with C (for example ES4770CL).
• CIC – from about late 2009 / 2010 (facelift). Controller with MENU, BACK and OPTION buttons. Choose units with I (for example ES4770IL).

Left-hand or right-hand drive

Units ending in L are for left-hand-drive cars and R for right-hand-drive cars (UK, Ireland, Australia, Japan, South Africa) – for example ES4770IL and ES4770IR.

What you keep after the upgrade

The screen-upgrade units connect to the original BMW plugs (plug and play, no cutting). In most cars you keep the original iDrive controller (it also controls Android), the steering-wheel buttons, the original BMW radio and speakers including Harman Kardon / Logic 7 sound, the factory reversing camera and the parking-sensor display.
